Choose for: warmer, medium-thickness trekking comfort with merino and Tencel.

Warmth 4/5 | Thickness 2/3 | Crew length | Pair weight 70 g

64% NATIVA merino wool and 10% Tencel Refibra; four-layer Drytech moisture-transfer construction.

Seamless toe, elastic shaft and grip at the arch and above the ankle. Made in Finland.

Best considered for cooler hikes, winter trekking and walking-intensive outdoor work. For hot-weather hiking or tighter boots, compare thinner Malla, Teijo or Posio.

Warm trekking socks with merino and Tencel

Choose Repo when you want medium-thickness trekking socks with a merino-rich blend, a soft feel and four-layer Drytech construction. Made in Finland by UphillSport, Repo combines 64% NATIVA merino wool with 10% Tencel Refibra for hikers who prioritise warmth and moisture management over a minimal-bulk fit.

From an early trail start to a chilly afternoon descent, Repo is the warmer, medium-thickness option to consider when your boots have room for it.

Why choose Repo?

  • Warmth 4/5, thickness 2/3: a warm, medium-profile option for cooler hikes and winter trekking.
  • Four-layer Drytech construction: designed to transfer moisture away from the skin as you walk.
  • Merino and Tencel blend: combines wool with Tencel Refibra for softness and comfort.
  • Secure fit: elastic shaft with grip at the arch and above the ankle.
  • Crew length and seamless toe: coverage above the ankle with a smooth toe finish.

Summer hiking, winter trekking or outdoor work?

Summer hiking: consider Repo for cooler high-country routes or if you prefer a warmer, medium-thickness sock. For less bulk, compare Malla or Teijo liners. Repo is not the first option I would choose for hot-weather hiking.

Winter hiking: Repo is a strong option to compare for active walking in cool and cold conditions, provided your footwear accommodates its thickness. Its warmth rating is a range comparison, not a temperature guarantee.

Professional outdoor use: consider Repo for walking-intensive outdoor work when comfort and a merino-rich blend are priorities. Compare Combat for a thin work-boot option, or Arctic for an extra-thick cold-weather option. Repo is not protective equipment or a waterproof sock.

Repo or another outdoor sock?

Choose Repo over Honka if you prefer its 64% merino and 10% Tencel blend with Drytech moisture-transfer construction. Both have warmth 4/5 and thickness 2/3; Repo is not rated warmer.

Choose Posio instead if you want the same listed warmth rating in a thinner 1/3 profile. Compare Rova or Arctic when you want 5/5 warmth and a heavy 3/3 profile, with enough boot space for the extra bulk.

UphillSport® is an outdoor lifestyle brand originating from Finland, renowned for its high-performance socks specifically engineered for extreme outdoor conditions. Rooted in the Tampere region—an area with over 200 years of rich textile manufacturing heritage—UphillSport benefits from unparalleled craftsmanship and innovation in textile production.

The brand is created and produced by Sukkamestarit Ltd, a Finnish company with a long-standing history in sock manufacturing since 1996. Leveraging decades of expertise, Sukkamestarit has honed advanced techniques to produce premium performance socks capable of withstanding the harsh, cold, and moist sub-Arctic climates typical of northern Finland.

Launched in 2014, the UphillSport® brand combines traditional textile heritage with cutting-edge technology, focusing on multi-layer sock systems that maximize breathability, moisture management, durability, and warmth. Each pair of UphillSport socks undergoes rigorous Arctic testing to ensure reliability in extreme weather conditions, making them a trusted choice for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, and professionals alike.

UphillSport's product range includes specialized socks for hiking, running, skiing, fishing, and workwear, designed to provide unparalleled comfort and protection on any adventure—from Arctic expeditions to rugged Australian treks. The brand’s commitment to innovation and quality is further exemplified by its military-grade performance credentials, such as being worn during the Netherlands Marine Corps’ world record speed march under freezing temperatures.

Today, UphillSport stands as a premium sock brand that seamlessly blends Finnish tradition with modern technological innovation, dedicated to delivering durable, multi-layered socks that keep feet dry, warm, and supported no matter the challenge.

UphillSport® has revolutionized outdoor and performance socks through their pioneering Multi-layer System technology. At the heart of their innovation is a carefully engineered technical multilayer structure that allows the creation of socks that are remarkably warm while maintaining a slim and lightweight profile. Unlike traditional thick socks that rely solely on bulk to provide insulation, UphillSport® leverages the unique properties of different materials layered strategically to optimize performance.

Each layer in the Multi-layer System serves a specific function — from enhancing breathability and managing moisture, to increasing durability and delivering superior warmth in harsh conditions. This approach ensures that UphillSport® socks effectively regulate temperature and keep feet dry, even during intense physical activities or in extreme outdoor environments.

Ideal for active outdoor enthusiasts and performance athletes alike, these socks provide comfort and protection without compromising mobility or fit. Whether hiking, skiing, or engaged in tactical work, UphillSport® socks offer the technical advantages needed for high-performance demands.

Committed to continuous innovation, UphillSport® combines advanced manufacturing expertise with sustainable practices, ensuring their products are not only technically advanced but also environmentally responsible.
